For Nonprofits and Churches
Google gives you
$10,000 a month.
Most never use it.
The Google Ad Grant gives eligible 501(c)(3) organizations up to $10,000 per month in free Google Search advertising. We handle approval, setup, and the ongoing compliance that keeps it running.

Do you qualify?
Most nonprofits and churches do.
Four requirements. If you meet them, the grant is yours to claim.
Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit
You need a formal IRS determination letter. If you are part of a denomination or parent organization, we use their letter plus an official directory listing showing your affiliation.
A live website with real content
Google reviews your site during approval. A single placeholder page will not pass. If your site is not ready, we can build it first.
Secure site (HTTPS)
Your domain needs a valid SSL certificate, and you must have genuine administrative control over every domain your ads point to.
Non-discrimination agreement
Google asks that you agree to their terms and do not discriminate in the services you provide.
Not eligible
- Government entities and organizations
- Hospitals and medical groups
- Schools, academic institutions, and universities
The part nobody tells you
Getting approved is the easy part.
Keeping it is where they fail.
Plenty of organizations get the grant and then quietly lose it. Here is what actually goes wrong.
Click-through rate falls below 5%
Google requires an account-wide 5% click-through rate. Two consecutive months below that threshold triggers deactivation. This is the single most common reason grants go dark, and it is entirely preventable with active management.
No conversion tracking
Every Ad Grant account is required to have valid conversion tracking recording at least one meaningful conversion per month. Without it you cannot optimize, performance decays, and the account eventually gets flagged.
The account goes untouched
Google expects at least one login per month and a meaningful optimization every 90 days. The Ad Grant is not a set-and-forget program, and dormant accounts get suspended.
Weak keywords and broken landing pages
Single-word keywords, overly generic terms, ads pointing at dead links or irrelevant pages, thin content, and pages that fail mobile-friendliness checks can all jeopardize the account independently of ad performance.
Every one of these is preventable. That is the entire job.
How it works
From application to running ads.
Free eligibility check
We confirm your 501(c)(3) status, review your website against Google's requirements, and tell you honestly whether you qualify. No cost, no obligation.
Application and approval
We handle registration through Google for Nonprofits and their verification partner, submit your documentation, and manage the back and forth until you are approved.
Account build
Keyword research around your actual mission, campaign structure, ad copy, geo-targeting, and full conversion tracking configured from day one.
Ongoing management
Monthly optimization to hold your click-through rate above 5%, keep conversions recording, stay compliant, and grow the donations and volunteers the grant actually brings in.
Questions
Straight answers.
What is the Google Ad Grant?
The Google Ad Grant is a program that gives eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits up to $10,000 per month in free advertising on Google Search. That is up to $120,000 per year in free advertising. The budget resets every month and the ads appear in the same search results placement that paid advertisers compete for.
Can churches get the Google Ad Grant?
Yes. Churches are eligible for the Google Ad Grant as long as they hold valid 501(c)(3) status. If your church is part of a denomination, you can typically qualify using the parent organization's IRS determination letter along with an official directory listing that proves your affiliation. You also need a live website with real content and must agree not to discriminate in the services you provide.
How much does it cost to have someone manage a Google Ad Grant?
Most agencies charge between $300 and $600 per month for Google Ad Grant management. Compared to the $10,000 per month in advertising the grant provides, management typically pays for itself many times over when the account is run properly.
Why do nonprofits lose their Google Ad Grant?
The most common reason is falling below Google's required 5% account-wide click-through rate for two consecutive months. Other frequent causes are missing conversion tracking, accounts that sit untouched for months, single-word or overly generic keywords, and ads pointing to broken or irrelevant landing pages. Nearly all of these are preventable with active monthly management.
Do I need a website before applying for the Google Ad Grant?
Yes. Google reviews your website as part of the approval process and requires a live site with substantial content, a secure HTTPS connection, and genuine administrative control over the domain. A single placeholder page will not pass review. If your website is not ready, we can build one first and then handle the grant application.
Who is not eligible for the Google Ad Grant?
Government entities, hospitals and medical groups, and schools, academic institutions, and universities are not eligible for the Google Ad Grant. Philanthropic arms of educational institutions may qualify separately.
How long does Google Ad Grant approval take?
Registration and verification typically takes one to two weeks once your documentation is in order. Building out the account properly adds another week. Most organizations are live and running ads within about a month of starting the process.
My Google Ad Grant was suspended. Can it be recovered?
In most cases, yes. Suspended accounts can usually be reinstated once the underlying compliance issue is corrected, whether that is click-through rate, conversion tracking, keyword quality, or landing page problems. We handle reinstatements as well as new applications.
Can the Google Ad Grant be used for donations and fundraising?
Yes, and that is where it produces the most value. The grant is most effective when it drives traffic to dedicated donation landing pages and email signup pages rather than a general homepage. Building the conversion path is as important as running the ads.

It costs nothing to ask.
